Allow me to extend to you a special invitation to be the featured guest of the 2007 convention of The Chub Squad scheduled for February 9-11, 2007. This annual event is known to members as The Lost Weekend.
The Lost Weekend takes place yearly at Fall Creek Falls State Park, located between Nashville and Chattanooga, in the beautiful hills of middle Tennessee. We will provide accommodations for you and a guest at the Fall Creek Falls Lodge and Convention Center on-site.
The Chub Squad (see our website at www.chubsquad.com or on MySpace at www.myspace.com/chubsquad) is a collection of about 14 large men who love to eat, smoke cigars, wear fezzes, and play role-playing and board games. The Lost Weekend is our chance to do this without the supervision of spouses/children/significant others/bosses. Much fun is had by all.
That is where you come in. As our featured guest for this year, you will become an Honorary Member of the Chubsquad for two days and be allowed to partake in all the rights and privileges of a full member. Previous invitees include Walter Cronkite (he declined) and Barry Livingston of My Three Sons fame (I think we sent his invitation to the wrong address), so you are in rarified air here.
We will meet you and your companion at either the Nashville or Chattanooga airport on the morning of the 9th (please advise us of your arrival time) and take you to the Fall Creek Falls Lodge. That evening, you will dine with us in our cabin (probably home-made chili) and enjoy the bonhomie of your fellow Chubsquadians. On Saturday, plan to spend the day playing games with the group, and your presentation on your life and works will take place that evening after dinner. On Sunday morning, you will be returned to the airport for your flight home.
